Brbinj stretches over two picturesque bays under the names Jaz and Lučina, which are ideal anchorage for boaters.

In the place is a ferry port for motor vehicles for the whole island, and a post office. Southwest of the village is the Brbinjšćica bay, surrounded by mighty cliffs and numerous caves, one of the safest anchorages on Dugi otok facing the open sea.

Brbinj writes its own history for 800 years and a part of its cultural heritage are Glagolitic priests who stayed in Bribinj, working through history and were the guardians and promoters of Croatian literacy in this region.
