Events “Saljske užance” consist of cultural and entertaining events, which have been taking place for 47 years, every year at the first weekend in August.
Activities program of events
August 07 – the event 'Ribarska noć'– preparing and choosing the best fish stew, grilling tuna, anchovy and other types of seafood takes place together with entertainment program in Porto with Dalmatian harmony-singing groups.
August 08 – the day for sport contests on Sali (scooter races, bag races, rope pulling) and afterwards 'Saljska Night' takes place (illuminating Porto, ships and small boats) together with entertainment program on the quayside with a Croatian pop group.
August 09 is a closing day of events, when there are traditional donkey races 'Trke tovarov', which is a spectacular event for all island guests, the majority of which arrive to the quayside of Sali to see this unusual race.
The morning starts with a patriotic song all over the island of Sali and then in the afternoon hours the donkey races 'Trke tovarov'. take place. In the end occasional prizes are awarded for the fastest donkey (e.g. prosciutto), as well as for the laziest one – the one who comes last to the finish line (e.g. an award).
Then in the evening hours there is a concert of a group for young people and those who feel so, which is also the last one in a row of concerts and performances in the course of three days.
The concert finishes in morning hours when the ship comes, which takes guests back to Zadar.
