For the first time it is mentioned in 1451 under the name Suiran. The island was in the possession of Zadar's noble families, which proofs the copper plate of the familiy Fanfogna dated from 1746.

Mentioned already in the 12th century.
It is located on the north-west part of the island in the Solišćica bay , over 3 nautical miles long, in which were the salt pans in the old times and the place was named after it.
The church St. Jakov was built in the 15th Century.
